Creative Climate is going on hiatus.
During the next few months, I plan to continue updating the Climate Resources listings on my website. I'll also mention any highlights in my monthly author newsletter. But I won't be sending out the weekly Creative Climate newsletter for a while.
Why is Creative Climate going on hiatus?
I’ve had fun over the past month compiling and sharing stories about creative responses to the climate crisis. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this newsletter about these creative works. These creative responses to the climate crisis have the potential to play a vital role in climate discourse and our responses to the climate crisis.
Unfortunately, I’m going to have to put this weekly newsletter about creative climate news on hold indefinitely.
This newsletter was an experiment. I wanted to see if I could get enough free and paid subscribers to make it worth the 15 or so hours per month required to produce and send the newsletter. For whatever reasons, that didn’t happen within the first month.
Under other circumstances, I would have continued this experiment for a few more months. I have promotion strategies that I haven’t tried yet and more ideas for the newsletter if it grows.
But at this point in my life, I’m trying to take on less unpaid work, not more. I work from home as an author and stay-at-home parent. I’d like to spend those extra 15 hours per month on some combination of family time and writing time.
I’ll be revisiting this decision this summer. In the meantime, if you like Creative Climate, I invite you to subscribe to my author newsletter and follow me on social media, where I often talk about creative climate news.
Thank you for reading and subscribing to Creative Climate! If you liked this newsletter and want to see it return sometime this summer or fall, let me know. In the meantime, I hope you find the creative responses to the climate crisis that you're looking for.
